STILLSTILL - Gili
This collection of images were taken of the late Jonathan Gili's collection of ephemera. Jonathan, who I never new, was a film maker who worked at the BBC for many years and was also a polymath; he was a brilliant photographer, too.
He was fascinated by collecting ephemera and organising it into boxes. When I first saw the collection of carefully labeled boxes I was struck by them and believe them to be artworks in their own right. These photographs were taken as a record before the collection was blown to the four corners of the earth.
